Morris serves
as a member of the Levi Jordan Plantation Board of
Directors. This section on Morris Richardson is written
in the third person because he didn't write it but
at some point, when he takes a break from his many
community activities, we hope these words will change to
HIS words! Morris lives in West Columbia, Texas and is a retired high school teacher and coach (during his career, he taught in Luling, Sweeny and West Columbia, Texas). Before beginning his teaching career in 1949, he served in the U.S. military, and spend his service during WWII in the Phillipines and in England. He and his wife Lois have three children and three grandchildren. Morris is very active in the alumni association of Prairie View A&M, where he went to college. In addition to his work with LJPHS, he is extremely active with the Brazoria County Historical Museum and with the Varner Hogg Plantation. Lois serves on the Board of Directors of the Brazoria County Historical Museum. At Varner Hogg, Morris has been in charge of the African-American programming that takes place at the site, including arrangements for the annual oral history presentations.
