![]() This is a representative sample of the MANY kinds of munitions found in this cabin. Included are bullets, round shot, bullet casings, and shotgun shells. |
I haven't written a detailed introduction to this section, but there is lots of information anyway, because Jorge Garcia-Herreros did his master's thesis on this cabin area. Included as links from his page is a paper he presented on the topic, as well as a chapter from his thesis. But here are some pictures of some of the artifacts found there go to Jorge's stuff to find out more about them! | |||
![]() Bullet molds. The left end of each pair of tongs has a small hole in it, used to make the bullet. |
![]() Metal tools: a drill and screw driver |
![]() Flint "arrowheads". Although these were, perhaps, used as traditional arrowheads during earlier use-lives, the context in which they were found, around munitions, suggests that they may have been used by the resident of this cabin in a different way. |
![]() A variety of toys were found in this cabin. It is not known why at this point. The small toy gun to the left has an inscription on it "the Chinese must go". A future link will discuss this toy gun, and others found in this cabin area. |
![]() More "toys" from this cabin. |
